JEFFERSON CITY, MO., -- In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site near Ash Grove. The meeting will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Nathan Boone home at the site.
Representatives from the site will provide information on facility operations and activities planned for 2009 and 2010. You are invited to share comments and suggestions. Based partially on previous comments and input from the public, the Department has completed the restoration of the Boone house and begun the restoration of the natural landscape.
Following the informational meeting, a special stargazing program will be held at the site until 10:30 p.m.
Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site is located 1.5 miles north of Ash Grove on Highway V. The historic site preserves the last home and grave of Nathan Boone.
