JEFFERSON CITY, MO., -- In an effort to ensure that the public has input regarding services provided in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting on Monday, June 15, at Battle of Athens State Historic Site near Kahoka. The meeting, which will address issues related to Battle of Athens and Iliniwek Village state historic sites in Clark County, will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the maintenance building at Battle of Athens State Historic Site and is open to the public.
Representatives from the Department will provide information on present and future plans for both facilities and answer questions. Agenda items will include the improvements to Battle of Athens State Historic Site as well as issues pertaining to Iliniwek Village State Historic Site. Visitors are invited to share comments and suggestions about the sites. Recent improvements that benefit the public include the addition of four miles of trails at Battle of Athens State Historic Site.
The maintenance building at Battle of Athens State Historic Site is located 13 miles north of Kahoka on Highway 81, then four miles east on CC.
