JEFFERSON CITY, MO., JUNE 1, 2009-- Bring your fishing pole, binoculars, basketball and any other outdoor games you enjoy to Knob Noster State Park and spend the day outdoors on Saturday, June 6. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, this "Get Out and Play!" day is free and open to the public.
Try new games, make new friends, learn new nature crafts and just explore the outdoors. Naturalists will be available all day to guide and facilitate different activities. You can start the day off bright and early by meeting others at the visitor center at 7 a.m. for a guided morning bird walk. Take the "Survivor Challenge" at 10 a.m. in the campground amphitheater. At noon, take a hike with a naturalist. Bring your lunch and a drink to enjoy along the trail amid the sounds of nature. Finish the day with family outdoor nature games from 3 to 4 p.m. and an evening nature program at 8:30 p.m. To make your day outdoors even more enjoyable, don't forget insect repellant, hiking shoes and sunscreen.
A fishing license is not required to fish in the park lake at this event as this is one of the Missouri Department of Conservation's free fishing days.
