JEFFERSON CITY, MO., -- Take advantage of the opportunity to view bald eagles as they soar over Montauk State Park near Salem. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the park will host two eagle-viewing events on Friday, Feb. 6 at 9 a.m. and Saturday, Feb. 21 at 3:30 p.m. The programs are free and open to the public.
Join a park naturalist at the park's stone shelter to learn interesting facts about Missouri eagles and their comeback. Then, observe how the birds hunt and build their nests. Binoculars will be provided. Dress appropriately for the weather.
Montauk State Park is located 22 miles south of Salem on Highway 119 or 13 miles east of Licking or 25 miles north of Houston, Mo., off of State Route VV.
