FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Missouri State Museum presents “Growing Up Missouri German” March 4

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, FEB. 19, 2020 – The Missouri State Museum presents “Growing Up Missouri German” as part of its ongoing “Landing After Hours” series on Wednesday, March 4. The program is sponsored by Missouri State Parks and will be held at the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site.

In January 2019 Stephana Landwehr told stories of a local German farm family in the early 1900s, but how did Germans in Missouri live in the 1930s and 1940s? What were their contributions to the community? Join Landwehr to learn about the lives of Josephine, Harry, Ben, Fred, Louis, Clara, Minnie, Frank and Carl. How did their German heritage impact their adulthood? Landwehr returns to share pictures, stories and memories.

Missouri State Museum’s “Landing After Hours” events are held the first Wednesday of each month. Programs are held in the Lohman Building at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site. Doors to the historic site will open at 6 p.m. and the program will start at 7 p.m. Come early to explore the historic site (entrance at the track side doors) before the program. The program will be held in the first floor classroom, easily accessed from the south entrance door. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.

Jefferson Landing State Historic Site is located at 100 Jefferson St., in Jefferson City, Missouri. For more information about the event, call the Missouri State Museum at 573-751-2854.
