First Day of the Season Hike at Washington State Park April 1

The public is invited to attend Washington State Park’s “First Day of the Season Hike” event to celebrate the beginning of the camping on-season.  The guided hike will begin at 2 p.m. on April 1 at the Thunderbird Lodge trailhead.

Washington State Park staff will lead guests on a 1.5 mile hike on the 1000 Step Trail. The hike will focus on the natural features of the park, signs of the change of seasons, and the park’s cultural heritage.

The hike will last approximately one and a half hours.  Dress accordingly for this outdoor experience.

This event is free and open to the public.

Washington State Park is located 10 miles south of De Soto on State Highway 21.  For more information about the event, call the park office at 636-586-5768.
