Queen City receives $34,200 grant from MoDNR to evaluate wastewater treatment upgrades

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 16, 2017 – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded a $34,200 Small Community Engineering Assistance Program grant to the city of Queen City in Schuyler County to develop alternatives for wastewater treatment improvements.

The city will use the grant funds to develop a facility plan that will evaluate wastewater treatment alternatives, and for planning purposes, evaluate how the wastewater system will respond to potential future requirements. The facility plan is estimated to cost $38,000 and is expected to be completed in spring 2019.

The Department of Natural Resources will administer the grant funds and is committed to working with communities to assist with water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects. The department’s Water Protection Financial Assistance Center assists with funding for communities with water quality, wastewater and drinking water infrastructure needs.
