Campfire safety program at Lewis and Clark State Park Oct. 8

Visitors are invited to learn about campfire safety at Lewis and Clark State Park.  The program will be held at 7 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the park office.   

The event will feature tips and information in regards to safety tending and building campfires while enjoying the outdoors.  Smokey the Bear will be making a visit to the park for this family-oriented program.

Lewis and Clark State Park is located at 801 Lakecrest Blvd in Rushville.  For more information about the event, call the park office at 816-579-5564. Missouri State Parks is supported by the one-tenth of one-percent Parks, Soils and Water Sales Tax, which accounts for approximately 75 percent of the budget to repair, improve and maintain state parks and historic sites. Missouri State Parks is a division of the Department of Natural Resources.
