FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site hosts public meeting Nov. 23

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, NOV. 18, 2019 – Representatives from Missouri State Parks invite the public to an informational meeting at the Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site at 2 p.m., Sat., Nov. 23. This public meeting is about the Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site, Mark Twain State Park, and the Union Covered Bridge State Historic Site. At the conclusion of the meeting, cake and punch will be served and guided tours of the museum will be available.

Representatives from these facilities will be on hand to provide information about the park and sites and to answer questions. The public is invited to share comments and ask questions about the park and sites and their operations.

Input from the public is important to Missouri State Parks. These informational meetings, which are being held in all state parks and historic sites, help create a two-way communication. The meetings give staff the opportunity to let people know the current status and future plans for the park or site, and they offer visitors the opportunity to comment on the facilities.

Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site is located at 37352 Shrine Road, Florida, in Monroe County. For more information, call the site at 573-565-3440.
