In years past, an esteemed assembly of department stakeholders and partners convened on a regular basis. These meetings served a valuable purpose in connecting the department’s leadership with key members of Missouri’s environmental and conservation community. In 2012, the department reinstated these meetings through four-specific Kitchen Cabinets. These four sector-based “kitchen cabinets” include agriculture, business and industry, local governments and environmental and conservation groups.
What are the Kitchen Cabinets?
The purpose of the Kitchen Cabinets is to offer forums for open and candid dialogue on issues common to our respective organizations. Our main goal is to gain insights and input on Missouri’s challenges and opportunities in each of these important areas from our partners. The Kitchen Cabinet meetings will also provide an opportunity for the department to share some of our key initiatives and discuss how organizations can become involved. By meeting with these groups regularly, the department can stay ahead of the curve and ensure it is providing the best possible service to all of its customers.
The department plans to host each kitchen cabinet on an annual basis with a combined sector meeting where all groups can engage on common issues. We know your time is valuable, so we will make every effort to make this process efficient and rewarding.
The mission of the Department of Natural Resources is to protect, preserve and enhance Missouri's natural, cultural and energy resources.
2014 Upcoming Meetings
You will receive an invitation and agenda prior to your sectors’ kitchen cabinet. In the meantime, please let us know what you would like to discuss at these meetings by completing a short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KitchenCabinets within the next two weeks. The survey will only take a minute or two to complete and we will use the results to develop topics relevant to you and your sector.
