GeoSTRAT – Geosciences Technical Resource Assessment Tool
Find locations of springs, mines, sinkholes and more using the Missouri Geosciences Technical Resource Assessment Tool. GeoSTRAT is a Web application that makes geologic and hydrologic data readily available for public use. GeoSTRAT enables users to easily visualize and explore geospatial data using an interactive map. Data also can be downloaded in formats compatible with a variety of free and commercial mapping software.
Throughout the Missouri Geological Survey’s 161 year history, many geologic maps have been produced and related data collected. It is the desire of the Survey to provide information in this 21st century format to make it accessible to citizens, city planners, industry representatives, academia and others 24/7. GeoSTRAT can be used for data assessments in various disciplines such as hazards assessment, environmental consulting and engineering, local and regional planning, insurance assessment and others.
GeoSTRAT is best viewed using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers. An Internet connection, a Web browser, and the free Google Earth Plug-in are required to use GeoSTRAT. Download it now or go directly to GeoSTRAT and you will be sent to the site to get the plug-in.
