Addendum to 2012 Newton/Jasper County Special Area 2 Casing Depth Map -- Important Addendum
This revised map shows areas of known groundwater contamination in Jasper and Newton counties. The map is primarily used by well drillers and informs them of areas where they must use more rigorous well drilling procedures. Wells drilled in areas of lead, cadmium or trichloroethelene, or TCE, contamination must be drilled and cased deeper than normal in order to seal out contamination.
