Industrial Sand

Industrial sand produced in Missouri is high purity quartz sand used by the polishing, casting, filtering, glass making and petroleum producing industries.  The majority of industrial sand production in Missouri is from the St. Peter Sandstone that occurs in an outcrop belt that stretches from east-central to Southeastern Missouri.  For more information about the St. Peter Sandstone contact the Geologic Resources Section at 573-368-2143 or email.
