Missouri River Flood Task Force
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers created the Missouri River Flood Task Force as a venue for federal, state, local, and Tribal officials to address issues related to the 2011 Missouri River flooding.
Missouri River 2011-2012 Draft Annual Operating Plan
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) released the 2011-2012 Draft Annual Operating Plan for the Missouri River Mainstem System in September 2011.
Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC)
The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) was authorized by the U.S. Congress in Section 5018 in the 2007 Water Resources Development Act. MRRIC is to provide guidance on the Missouri River Ecosystem Recovery Plan (MRERP) and also provide guidance to the Corps on the Missouri River recovery and mitigation plan. MRRIC members are from throughout the Missouri River Basin representing stakeholders, tribal, and governments at all levels. The next meeting of the MRRIC is scheduled for February 2012 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Lake Sakakawea Surplus Water Report
On December 16, 2010 the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a Draft Water Surplus Report and Environmental Assessment (EA) for Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota. The Corps proposes to temporarily make up to 257,000 acre-feet of storage (100,000 acre-feet of yield) per year within the Garrison Dam / Lake Sakakawea Project, N.D. available for municipal and industrial water supply use. The comment period on the Report and EA closed February 1, 2011.
