The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, approved a permit-in-lieu of a Total Maximum Daily Load, or PIL, for Dog Creek, WBID 0510, in Daviess County.
303(d)-listed pollutants:
- Non-volatile Suspended Solids (sediment).
To address the listed pollutants, permit limits were adjusted for:
- Total suspended solids.
Additionally, the quarry was required to remove stockpiled fines along the streambank, relocate other stockpiles vulnerable to eroding directly into the creek and install best management practices to control storm water contributions of sediment to the creek.
