Meet the Water Protection Program Director
David Lamb has worked for the Department of Natural Resources since 1995. He currently serves as the chief of the Public Drinking Water Branch of the Water Protection Program. He began his appointment to that position April 1, 2016. He was named acting director of the Water Protection Program Jan. 3, 2017. Prior to that, Lamb served for five and a half years as the director of the department’s Hazardous Waste Program and for a year as the director of the department’s Solid Waste Management Program. He has also held other management positions in the department’s Air Pollution Control Program and Energy Center. Lamb began his career with the department as an Environmental Specialist in the Hazardous Waste Program, where he worked in the areas of compliance and enforcement and underground storage tanks. Lamb graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla and holds a degree in Geology and Geophysics with an emphasis in environmental and groundwater geochemistry.
