The mission of the Division of Environmental Quality is to help Missourians prevent pollution, protect the public from harmful emissions, discharges and waste disposal practices. We are here to help Missourians improve the quality of the air, water and soil for sustainable use by business, tourism and agriculture.

Air Pollution Control Program

Environmental Services Program
provides support for other department programs that need scientific data for their work. Samples are collected and environmental conditions are monitored by staff specializing in air quality, water quality and hazardous materials management. Hazardous materials response professionals assist in planning, environmental emergency clean up and clandestine drug lab chemical management. Laboratory analyses of these and other samples are conducted by chemists trained in testing for environmental pollutants.
